Course manual 2021/2022

Course content

The course this year will focus on AdS/CFT duality and its connections to hydrodynamics, in particular fluid/gravity duality.

Objectives

  • Students will learn the connection between N=4 Super-Yang Mills theory and gravity.
  • Students will learn how N=4 Super-Yang Mills theory is related with hydrodynamics.
  • Students will learn how to compute various correlators of the field theory using gravitational methods.
  • Students will learn why black holes in Anti-de Sitter spacetime in particular regimes behave like fluids.
