This honors module is a math-academic skills training. You develop non-traditional academic skills like scientific communication and how to structure an interdisciplinary project. You get insight into the way mathematics is used outside of mathematics and you gain experience from working on a non-mathematical scientific problem. You start with a phenomenon from the natural sciences and you learn how to mathematically analyze it. You also learn to relate mathematical results with the actual information you have about the phenomenon you are trying to study. You also learn how to communicate scientific results to different target groups. You will work in an interdisciplinary team consisting of students and researchers from both sides.
This honors module is not an independent course. It can only be followed as an extension to a second year mathematics project (Project Wiskunde 2) or a bachelor project focusing on an interdisciplinary subject.
