Course content

Our workplaces have become more diverse and multicultural. To be successful in the 21st century workplace, we need to be able to communicate and behave effectively with people from other cultures and backgrounds. In these interactive training sessions, we will explore how our background influences how we interpret the world, what we expect from our team members, how we communicate, make decisions, our approach to work and deadlines, and much more. We will not only learn what to take into account when working with people from another country, but also other types of diversity such as personality and academic discipline. In addition, you will learn more about yourself, your personality, values, preferences and behaviors. We will develop and practice different skills, such as switching communication styles, and strategies to be more effective in a diverse team and workplace. The training takes an experiential learning approach, where we use our in- and out- of-class experiences to learn from them.
