Assignments

During the lectures by invited experts, on-the-spot assignments are given (e.g. assessing a text for signs of plagiarism, writing a short press release). The students collaborate on these, and the outcomes are immediately discussed in the plenary session (ungraded).  For the final session, students prepare a poster or presentation of their key activity of the past year (research internship, literature review), which they present in a programme-wide symposium coupled with a career/networking event, also attended by alumni. Assessment of the poster/presentation is done by peers and results in an award for the top candidates.

Fraud and plagiarism

The 'Regulations governing fraud and plagiarism for UvA students' applies to this course. This will be monitored carefully. Upon suspicion of fraud or plagiarism the Examinations Board of the programme will be informed. For the 'Regulations governing fraud and plagiarism for UvA students' see: www.student.uva.nl
